Aisha joined Lupins in May 2017. She is an accredited senior caseworker under the Law Society Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme and has over 3 years continuous experience of Immigration, Nationality, Asylum and Human Rights casework.

Prior to embarking on her legal career in 2009, Aisha worked as a teacher in a private school in North West London for 6 years. Following this, between 2009 and 2012, alongside completing her legal studies including the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School, Aisha worked for  legal firms and organisations gaining experience in several areas of law.

Aisha completed her training at a high street firm in South West London with seats in Residential and Commercial Property, Civil Litigation, Family law and Immigration. Aisha qualified as a solicitor in February 2016 specialising in Immigration, Nationality, Asylum and Human Rights law whilst maintaining a small caseload of Family, Property and Litigation matters.

Highly Skilled Migrants fall victim to the “hostile environment” policy

Following on from the “Windrush” scandal that has dominated the immigration news is the last few months, the Guardian newspaper has in the last few weeks been highlighting the case of highly skilled migrants seeking indefinite leave to remain in the UK being threatened with removal by the Home Office due to their broad hand use of rule 322(5) of the Immigration Rules to refuse applications on the basis of “bad character”. The Guardian reported that around 1,000 skilled migrants are “wrongly facing deportation”.
